    Reperion on holiday

    hi all,

first of all: Reperion works great!!

I noticed that whenever I have lost my GPRS connection,

Reperion caches the data and sends it at first contact.

Now I wonder... can I use Reperion on holiday and cache trackdata for a couple of weeks?

It would be so cool to see where I was on holiday!

I will shut off GPRS, because internet connections abroad is soooo expensive!

     regards

    Rob

    Hi Ufootje,

Yes, you can activate the LOG function (how depends on your client)

(note: Be careful ! When you are finished for the day. shutdown Reperion via the Exit function in the client. Atttention : When starting Reperion the next day, be sure to TURN ON LOGGING AGAIN before starting the application.- end note )

and LOG all the positions to memory. Each night, make a backup of the file positions.log and put it somewhere...don't delete the original, allow the original to grow larger everyday.

Then when you come home, you can start your client again, and without the LOG function turned on, move about..until a normal update takes place.your complete logfile will be uploaded at once.

This has been tested at 2300 updates stored and bursted at all once via GPRS. Took 18 seconds.

Now, if for some sick reason the update fails and the file is deleted, you will still have your daily backup. Copy them back one by one, name each one postitions.log again, and update the server like this,

Again, these backups are just for safety, I logged my entire week in Russia and stored 2300 updates immediately after landing at Schiphol.

Please always state your client version and device type model when posting or put it in your profile.

Thanks for the tips and info.

    hi Mike,

    thanks for your reply.

Where can I change my profile info?

if I go to Control Panel, I only see choices for Photos, Blog etc.

To update your profile, for example with your home gps coordinates, or your avatar, just click on your own username in the top right of your screen (when logged in)

This will open your personal dashboard for your profile, and much more :)
