    Separate GPS device?

I stumbled upon this wesbite while i was looking for a new ROM for my 8525 (HTC hermes). I am very interesting is playing around with this program, but I'm unclear on exactly how this works. Will I be needing a sepate GPS device that links with my phone in order to use this? If so where would I find said device? Thank you..sorry for the stupid question.

    Re: Separate GSP device?

Yes you do need a GPS device Stick out tongue

Without the GPS device, it won't work.

ANY GPS will work, even internal ones, but your device hasn't got one inside I believe,

so you need to buy an external GPS. Any 40$ bluetooth GPS will work (go for a SirfStar III chipset)

    Re: Separate GSP device?

Any Bluetooth GPS will work. Most brands are OK.

Why not go for the extra mile and get a Polaris HUD GPS ? It will also project your speed and  course on your windshield using "heads up display technology"

The HG-100 GPS based heads up display we mentioned here at Navigadget makes it through FCC -

but during photoshoot it doesn’t look anything like the computer generated pics. But looks aren’t everything - so there’s still hope.

HG-100 is a device that combines Heads-Up Display (HUD), GPS, and Bluetooth. With HUD, car heading and speed are being projected onto the windshield so drivers can keep their eyes on the road. HG-100 has also the Over-Speed Alert function to remind drivers with when they’re stepping on the gas pedal a bit too hard. The GPS receiver is from MediaTek Inc. and it provides the 32 channel all-in-view satellite tracking, 5Hz update rate function to show the most detailed position fix. HG-100 also has Bluetooth interface function, so you can pair it up with your PDA, Smart Phone and laptop computer to enable these devices with GPS navigation feature (must bring your own navigation software).

Check out product HG-100 manual (pdf!).
