    Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

I have a BJII I was trying to get to work with the software.  I tried to run the version listed for the blackjack II and I was curious which port I needed to select to use the internal gps.

     Thanks

Re: Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

As a quick update I tried all the ports 0-9 and all but 3 and 9 gave invalid port.  when I used 3 and 9 the phone actually locked up and I had to pull the battery.  After a few minutes googleing I determined I may need to run an application to "unlock" the GPS.  I found one at Motoco which opens up com4 for gps.  I tried that with reperion and it gave invalid port.  I then try to run with windows live search program and it opened up and used com4 as the GPS.

Does your Reperion  client now work ?

Are you using the GPS settings icon in yur PDA ? What is selected as software port, and what as hardware port (start-settngs-communication-GPS Settings)

The blackjack device should just work with our software , out of the box, that is, the blackjack version hidden away in the WM2005 section on http://www.reperion.com/newclient

Re: Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

In the blackjack II I don't have a GPS icon.  It has the settings app and all the different settings are broken out in different screens.  I looked everywhere and cannot find something specifically for the GPS.

As for the Reperion Application it does start up fine.  I can go in and configure it.  I setup it up the same as I used windows live.  It is set for port 4 at 4800 baud.

when I hit the start button I get an "invalid port" message.  but I made sure windows live wasn't running while trying this in reperion.  I even went so far as to uninstall windows live search to ensure it was blocking the port.

I just found a program call gpstest for pocketpcs and smartphones and it found the GPS on com4 @ 9600 baud but reperion still says invalid port.

Re: Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

Mmm this sounds like it's gonna be a hard nut to crack. Many devices with internal GPS have the GPS icon to split the ports for multiple applications.

Probably there's a registry setting for the GPS setting icon in a blackjack II, we will look for that and come back to you.

Which version are you using now, and which versions have you tested ?

Re: Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

ok I am using the one title wm2005_smartphone_landscape_dash_q_blac.....  I think version 1.53.  I tried just about all of the ones I could download.  Several would load most just errored out.  But I figured this was the one that was for the blackjack.  The screen appears the best.  Let me know what you would like for me to try.

    Thanks

Re: Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

I got the "Settings.exe" application from the Windows Mobile SDK and moved it to my device.  it shows the program port is set to Com 4.  When I set GPSTest.exe up for com 4 it picks up and works.  When I try it with Reperion it says invalid port.

Re: Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

I'm having the same issues with a BlackJack II that I bought about a month ago.  Running WM6 on AT&T Network and originally had TeleNav installed and working although I just canceled the service and monthly charge.  The TeleNav application is still installed though.

Also installed the MoDaCo Activation hack with no joy.

I've found many people talking about GPSTest.exe, but I cannot find it anywhere on my phone using File Explorer including the Windows folder.

Re: Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

Have you guys installed the correct version ?

Hidden away in this folder :

    http://www.reperion.com/newclient/004%20WM2005%20versions/WM2005_SmartPhone_LandScape_Dash_Q_BLACKJACK_153.cab

Try starting another GPS application before starting Reperion, some users reported that to work for them.

The blackjack ROM has a Bleutooth Implementation that gives us headaches :)

Re: Blackjack II Internal GPS issues

I reinstalled the version in the link you provided.  I first started up GPS Test and it got a fix pretty quickly using settings Com4 19200 baud.  I exited out of it and started up Reperion and set it up to use Com4 @ 19200 and when I hit start it says invalid port.
